Arts Council England, South West – Press & Media Training

The press & media training days are designed to help artists and arts organisations to get their work in the news.  They are open to all individual artists working in any artform and those working for arts organisations in the South West region.  Please note that no more than 2 people from any one organisation may attend unless spare places are available.

Press training days cover the whole process of getting your story in the news from spotting the story to being interviewed.  Based on a press release produced during the day, there will be an opportunity to improve your media interview skills.

The programme includes:

·                    spotting your story and making it newsworthy

·                    developing techniques for writing press releases

·                    deciding who to send your press release to

·                    getting your press release noticed

·                    setting up photo opportunities

·                    improving your media interview skills.

The course is open to those with some experience as well as those with little or no experience, and will be tailored to the needs of those attending.

Cost:  This course costs Arts Council England, South West £150.00 per person, without profit.  Subsidised rate to artists/arts organisations £15 (including VAT)
